This place is my share house’s go-to Indian joint and they never disappoint. Delivery’s super fast and the vego curries are great. The hot versions will melt your face off though, so white people be warned. Great feed

On 11 May 2016 I decided to roll the dice on The Yarra Indian Restaurant. The experience was eye opening. The options are vast- and my tastes are quite specific. They were able to cater to my vegan needs as well. So, the first thing I must say, if you order “hot” … they’re going to send you hot food. I have been a lover of spicy food for over a decade but I’ve never experienced food as hot as this. I was able to get through the meal between the burning sensations. The other spices in the food were amazing – the aromatic fragrant and even delicate mix in both of the daal’s were on point. I am definitely going to order again, however, I might downgrade my heat request to a medium or a mild. My review of the heat of the food may sound like a complaint – but it’s definitely not. It’s just a heads up – if you like it really hot, this place WILL deliver, but that option is not for the feint of heart.

Amazing food, but why wouldn’t automatically come with rice ? Curry with out rice is meaty soup. This should be a prompt on the app. Disappointing because your food is lovely 🙁

The food is great and the initial discount superb. Really enjoyed my three vegetarian curries. Naans delicious. I ordered two curries medium and one hot and these guys don’t muck around. My face is on fire. Recommended.

After years of frustration of various Indian restaurants serving up very inconsistent food, I’ve ordered from Yarra Indian 10 times (yay, free meal!) and every single delivery has been on time and incredibly delicious. I’ve done a lot of travel throughout southern India and this is the real deal. And yes, if you order hot – expect HOT, which I love.. I am surprised by the mixed reviews, though the dishes we order are typically chicken and not lamb. Serves you right you little lamb eaters!! 😉

We ordered delivery from Yarra Indian for the first time and was so impressed we will continue to order from here. Great value for money, huge portion sizes and wonderful flavours. We ordered the dinner pack and thought because it was a deal it may be smaller portiins but certainly not. Butter chicken was delish

The food was delivered hot and fresh and was super tasty. The butter chicken was a little sweeter than I’m used to but it was delicious. Garlic naan was also fantastic. Delivery only took about 30 minutes. Will definitely order again

By far the best curry house I have come across in a long time. The recipes are spot on. I have lived in South Yarra for a bit over a year & tried most of the local spots, and was disappointed most of the time. The Yarra gets it right. Also fast & friendly service. Can’t be beat.

Okay, I order from ML all the time but this is the first time I have been motivated to write a review! Really great vegi options, delicious, rich flavours which can be hard to acheive with vegi/vegan options! Ordered $30 of food and the servings were SUPER generous, will probably last me for the rest of the week. Can’t attest to the speed, as I pre-ordered, but they came at the exact time I specified. I’m very satisfied with this restaurant, we got huge portion sizes and the food was great! Delivered quickly too. I think I got a beef curry instead of a lamb Vindaloo though only downside, but it was still really good food. We will definitely order again
