Chilli Paneer Dry  is a delicious starter or appetizer snack that will leave your taste buds craving for more. It’s the perfect dish to serve at parties and gatherings as it can be prepared in advance and kept warm until guests arrive.

In this recipe, We make fried paneer cubes which are tossed in a sweet, sour, spicy sauce that will leave your taste buds wanting more! This is then served as a starter or appetizer snack so let us see how to make one today!

Serves: 1 or 2

Ingredients:

For Paneer Cubes:

  • Corn flour- 2 tbsp
  • Self-rising flour or all-purpose flour (maida)- 3 tbsp
  • Ginger paste- ½ tbsp
  • Garlic paste- ½ tbsp
  • Crushed pepper- ¼ tbsp
  • Red chilli powder- ¼ tbsp
  • Salt (preferably sea salt)- ½ tbsp
  • Water- ¼ cup
  • Paneer Cubes- 250 gms
  • Oil- to fry

To prepare the sauce:

  • 1+½ tsp oil
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1 or 2 chilli slits
  • ¼ cup of spring onions
  • ¼ cup of sliced capsicum
  • ½ tsp of red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • ¼ tsp of Ajinomoto
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 1/s tsp sugar
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water 1 cup

Garnishing:

  • ½ tsp of sesame seeds
  • Spring onions chopped

Preparation:

  • Take a clean bowl and put the all-purpose flour (maida) to it
  • Add cornflour and crushed pepper
  • Add ginger and garlic paste to it
  • Add salt as per your taste, to which add water to turn it into a paste
  • Keep this batter aside, take a pan heat up oil for frying
  • Take paneer cubes, cover them nicely in the batter
  • Fry the paneer cubes on medium-high flame until they crunch to eat
  • To prepare the base, in a pan add some oil
  • Add finely chopped ginger and garlic
  • Saute well and then add green
  • Then add spring onions, capsicum
  • Saute and cook for 3 to 4 mins
  • On low flame add Ajinomoto and chilli powder, along with salt
  • Then add soy sauce and chilli sauce
  • Add water and let it boil
  • In a cup take corn flour, add water and stir till the cornflour dissolves in water.
  • The but this mix in the pan and stir
  • Stir carefully to avoid lumps
  • Turn the flame to medium-high and let it boil for 5 to 6 mins
  • Turn the flame into low and add paneer cubes
  • Saute well till your coat the paneer into the dry mix
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Serve hot with our garnishing

Tip:

If the paneer is frozen then put it in warm water and loosen it up before using it. If you don’t have soy sauce you can use tamari or Bragg amino liquid as well. If you don’t have spring onions you can use regular onions.
